A Deconvolution Method for the Mapping of Residual Stresses by X-Ray Diffraction

چکیده

Inherent averaging effects in X-ray diffraction measurement of residual stresses, related to the finite size irradiated area, lead inaccurate measurements presence high surface stress gradients. This paper develops a reconstruction method which allows mapping heterogeneous stresses from averaged measurements. The is based on deconvolution average XRD combination fine grid and use two collimators an overdetermined linear system measured experimentally whose inversion provides values local field. First, successfully assessed reference problem solved by FEM distribution datasets are known. Then, it applied experimental specimen processed repetitive corrugation straightening. reconstructed field agreement with numerical (local) results process. developed this work permits accurate distributions near-surface residual-stresses.

Introducing an Optimized Method for Obtaining X-ray Diffraction Patterns of Biological Tissues

Introduction Individual X-Ray diffraction patterns of biological tissues are obtained via interference of coherent scattering with their electrons. Many scientists have distinguished normal and cancerous breast tissue, bone density, and urinary stone types using the X-Ray diffraction patterns resulting from coherent scattering. The goal of this study was to introduce an optimized method for obt...

Measurement of Residual Stresses in Fiber Reinforced Composites Based on X-Ray Diffraction

1. ABSTRACT X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements have been made to determine residual stresses in embedded Al particles placed between the first and second ply of both unidirectional and fabric graphite/PMR-15 composite specimens. In order to further verify the results obtained, the effect of externally applied four-point bending on the measured strains and stresses in the Al inclusions was inv...

Three-dimensional diffraction mapping by tuning the X-ray energy

Three-dimensional reciprocal-space maps of a single SiGe island around the Si(004) Bragg peak are recorded using an energy-tuning technique with a microfocused X-ray beam with compound refractive lenses as focusing optics. The map is in agreement with simulated data as well as with a map recorded by an ordinary rocking-curve scan. The energy-tuning approach circumvents both the comparatively la...

X-ray Diffraction and SEM Studies on the Effect of Temperature on the Formation of Main Phase Sr2MgSi2O7 Using a Wet and Dry Method for its Preparation

A pure Silicate host namely Sr2MgSi2O7 as a support for a long-lasting afterglow when dopped with rare-earth elements was sought after. To this end the process of obtaining firing temperatures of the above mentioned phase in normal condition was carried out using suggested wet and dry methods. The degree of purity obtained in these preparatory methods as wel...
